THE BRAND
We are Amelie Charroin and Marie Colin-Madan, textile designer born in 1984. The desire to create images together has led to Milleneufcentquatrevingtquatre.
Our shared desire to create images togheter gave birth to Milleneufcentquatrevingtquatre.
Since January 2010, we offer collections of square of silk manufactured in France.
SQUARE
Our patterns are designed by both of us, using several manualy processes as well as drawing, painting, photomontage. We create composite images, surrounded by surealism, where narration and geometric bases have been combinated. The composition set-up is mainely based on the corners, the fours of them are totally unique. Each square of silk is a picture to wear.
INSPIRATIONS
Our images are inspirated by history of painting, architecture, traditional patterns of silkscreened square of silk, but our first influences are more contemporary, our own lives, our daily lives. Nature that we are fantasizing, blogs we are following, movies, music, videos, ...
VALUES
We work in Lyon, silk historical birthplace. By being here, we made the choice to work closely with the best French silk manufacturers. We really want to develop these local networks and highlight this famous know-how, wich is environmentally friendly. Each piece is woven, printed and shaped in Rhône-Alpes, France. Scarves' boxes are hand-printed by our-self in our workshops.
